Join us for a cup of Arabic coffee as today we are in an Arabic mood! We met years back in Qatar, the Middle East, where we lived. From time to time we get nostalgic over our time there. To feel like we are back in the Region we prepare Qahwa Arabeya – Middle East style Arabic coffee with cardamom and saffron. An absolute delight for all coffee lovers!

SERVES 1-2

 

  • 1 ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon of lightly roasted ground Arabic coffee
  • 1 tablespoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron

1. Bring to boil the water in a pot.

2. Add the coffee to the water and boil over low heat for 15-25 minutes.

3. Remove from the heat and let rest for 5 minutes to allow the coffee to settle.

4. Put the cardamom in a coffee pot, strain the coffee into it and add the saffron.

5. Place the pot in a hot place (over tea light heater) or over the heat, if your coffee pot is prepared for this (from metal) and bring back to boil once and then serve.
